I was reading in Isaiah in my TruthQuest Study Bible and God gave me this verse for our mission opportunity. It is Isaiah 45:2-3 in the NLT.

"I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains. I will smash down the gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. And I will give you treasures, hidden in the darkness - secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name."

The main thing that stuck out to me when I first read this verse, was that God was going before Cyrus. I think that that is so awesome and we need to pray God will do the same for us because if God does not lead the way in this mission, it will surely fail. The second thing that struck me was the reason why he was going to do this. He is not going to do it so the TQ members get recognition or so lots more viewers are added to FamilyNet, or so Broadman and Holman will sell a bunch of products, but he is going to do it so He gets recognition as the God of all Gods.

Now the last part of this verse that I love is that He was going to call Cyrus by name. In Matthew Henry's Commentary on this passage, he said that Cyrus was an outcast of his community. No one wanted anything to do with Cyrus. But, Hallelujah! God not only called Cyrus, a nobody and a failure, but he called him by name! The God of all Gods, the Creator of the Universe, knew his name. And you can bet that even though we have failed God a hundred thousand times, he know our names and he wants to do something mighty through everyone involved in this mission. But, again, not for us, but so He gets credit.

Would you please join me in praying this verse for TruthQuest: California. I heard a quote one time, maybe it was a verse, and it said "Whatever man builds, man will destroy." Let's not build TruthQuest, but let God do it!

Gracious Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being who you are. For being master, Creator, the Holy One, and the Great I AM. And thank you for knowing our names, and for calling us out even though we do not deserve to be called out. I pray, Father that you would go before us and clear the way for the work that you are going to do through us. I pray you would not let us take this great responsiblity lightly. I pray that we would pray for your divine intervention all day every day, and that You would keep us humble. And Oh, God! We cry out and pray that "Not to us, O Lord, but to you goes all of the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness!" Please, Father, do not let anyone but yourself recieve 110% of the glory! I pray that the thought of someone other than yourself receiving the glory would be repulsing to us. Keep us humble and help us to withstand the attacks of Satan. We once again thank you with all of our hearts for the love that you have shown us. Help us never to take it for granted. We love you today, Father.

We pray all of these things in Jesus Holy and Matchless name, Amen
